By enabling the conversion of an ordinary Epson 4-color or 6-color desktop printer into a dedicated sublimation printer, InkOwl allows you to affordably enter into sublimation printing. InkOwl's Performance-D Sublimation Ink is competitively-priced and manufactured in the United States.
When switching from regular ink to dye sublimation, or when switching between two different suppliers of sublimation ink, it is necessary to clean the printer thoroughly. As such, please follow these conversion guidelines closely.
ECOTANK PRINTERS: The conversion steps below do not apply to EcoTank-brand printers. EcoTank printers can only be used with sublimation ink if the printer is brand-new and has not yet been filled with other ink. Simply inject the sublimation ink into your EcoTank printer using the provided syringes. All EcoTank models can be used with sublimation ink if brand-new.
If your Epson printer is currently using any other ink (Epson-brand ink, aftermarket ink, another brand of sublimation ink), it is required that you clean the printer immediately upon installing InkOwl Performance-D Sublimation Ink.
With your printer now converted to InkOwl Performance-D Sublimation Ink, you can begin sublimation printing. For best results, print your images onto a transfer paper specifically intended for sublimation printing. Transfer the prints using an appropriately-sized heat press onto the sublimation blank (imprintable) of your choice!
Although it is possible to obtain very good results without customized color management, the color gamut will be severely limited. To produce photographic-quality sublimated materials, color management is required. An ICC profile will need to be installed into Photoshop, Corel, or your RIP software. ICC profiles are available for download!
